Sean came out and quickly diagnosed a failed fan element, explained clearly what had gone and why, and gave me a fair quote for the part plus labour. No complaints at all with how he dealt with it - I am just weighing up whether to repair or replace the oven and comparing options, so I have not booked the work in yet.

Thanks for having me out, Priya - it was no trouble at all. Glad the diagnosis was clear: it's the fan (bake) element that's failed, which is why the light and fan still work but there's no heat. The quote for the part plus labour stands whenever you're ready. On a 6-year-old Bosch a fan element is usually well worth doing and gives it a good few more years, but there's genuinely no pressure - take your time weighing repair against replace, and I'm happy to advise either way. Sean topped the loft up to 270mm and the difference is noticeable - the upstairs is much warmer already. Two small niggles: he arrived a fair bit later than we had agreed, and there was quite a bit of loft-fibre debris left around the landing and hatch that I had to clean up afterwards. The work itself is good and I would still recommend him, just with those caveats.

You're quite right on the two niggles, though, and I own them: I arrived later than we'd agreed, and the loft-fibre debris around the landing and hatch should have been sheeted off and vacuumed down before I left - that's on me, not you. I've tightened up my timekeeping and now dust-sheet the landing and hoover through as standard. Thanks for still recommending me. Sean.

Sean fitted a lovely 5kW DEFRA-approved stove with a new flue liner and hearth, and swept the chimney first before starting. He provided the HETAS certificate without me having to ask, kept everything spotless, and the price was very fair. It has completely transformed the room - we could not be happier.
