3.3 — Solar Panel Installation

Marcus, CB1 · 6 days ago · Posted the job here · Quote only

Came out to survey the roof promptly and were friendly and knowledgeable about a 4kW PV setup and battery options. The written quote was clear but came in a fair bit higher than a couple of others we are considering, so we have not booked yet - it is a big spend and we are weighing it up. No pressure from them, which was appreciated.

Broadland Home & Energy Ltd replied

Thank you for considering us, Marcus, and for the kind words about the survey - no pressure from us, take your time on a big decision. On the price: our quote covers MCS-accredited panels and inverter, full scaffolding, the install and certification, plus the DNO application, so the cheapest headline figure is not always like for like. Happy to walk you through the line items against the other quotes. We can also look at fitting now and adding a battery later versus doing both together, so the numbers suit your budget. The door is open whenever you are ready - just give us a shout.

3.6 — Garage Doors - Installation / Repair

Marcus, IP1 · 6 days ago · Posted the job here · Hired them

Door was replaced and is solid, and the fitter was polite and knew his stuff. Marked down mainly on timing - we waited nearly three weeks for the new sectional door to arrive and the first date slipped. On fitting there was also a snag with the remote and the alignment needed adjusting, which meant a second short visit to sort. Got there in the end but it was more back-and-forth than I expected.

Broadland Home & Energy Ltd replied

Thank you for the honest feedback, Marcus - it is fair. The near three-week wait was because your sectional door is made to order rather than a stock item, but setting that expectation clearly is our job, and letting the first date slip on top was not good enough. The remote and alignment snag needing a second visit was avoidable too. We are tightening up: a firm written lead-time at the point of order with updates if the factory slips, and a full remote and alignment test before we leave site. Glad the door is solid and that our fitter looked after you - thank you for the chance to do better.

4.8 — Carpet Fitters

Marcus, NR1 · 6 days ago · Posted the job here · Hired them

Excellent job fitting our living room carpet. Turned up when they said, took up and disposed of the old carpet and underlay, and the finish around the bay window and doorway is spotless. Only tiny niggle was a few offcuts left on the drive, cleared once I mentioned it. Would happily use again.

Broadland Home & Energy Ltd replied

Thank you so much, Marcus - it was a pleasure fitting your living room carpet and we are delighted you are happy with the finish around the bay window. You are quite right about the offcuts left on the drive; that was our miss on the final tidy-up and we should have cleared them without being asked. We have had a word with the team so it does not happen again. Enjoy the new carpet, and thank you for the kind words.
