Caledonia came out to quote for re-rendering our blown pebbledash gable. In fairness they turned up when they said and the chap was pleasant enough to deal with. That said, the quote took over two weeks to arrive after a couple of chasing calls, and when it did it was noticeably higher than two other renderers for the same silicone K-Rend spec, with not much detail on scaffold or the colour options I had asked about. Perfectly civil, but not the responsiveness or value I was hoping for, so we went elsewhere.

You are right that the written quote took too long - a couple of weeks with chasing calls is not the standard we want to set, and we have since tightened how quickly we turn quotes and colour options around. I am sorry it fell short there. It is a shame we could not do the work, but I genuinely hope the re-render goes well. Absolutely delighted with Caledonia Building & Renewables Ltd. They stripped the old failed felt off our rear extension roof and fitted a beautiful new fibreglass GRP roof - talked me through GRP versus EPDM honestly before we decided, sorted new upstands, trims and a relocated outlet so there is no more ponding. Turned up exactly when they said, protected the conservatory below throughout, and left the whole site spotless every evening. Fair price for the quality and a proper written warranty. Could not recommend them more highly.

Thank you so much, Fiona - this genuinely made our day. We would always rather talk through GRP versus EPDM honestly and fit the right system than the dearest one, so it means a lot that came across. A fibreglass roof with new upstands, trims and the relocated outlet should keep that extension dry for many years. Protecting the conservatory and leaving a tidy site each evening is simply how we like to work.
