A deposit over about a quarter of the job is unusual. Never pay one by bank transfer to a new account without a written contract. What to check before you pay

Marcus came out to look at the flat and gave me a written quote for the end of tenancy clean, which was helpful and clearly itemised. He was on time and easy to talk to. The price was a bit higher than I expected so I am weighing it up against another cleaner before I decide. No complaints about how he dealt with me.
Coastline Property Services replied
Thank you, and no problem at all taking time to compare quotes. Happy to explain what is included: an end of tenancy clean is priced above a standard clean because it is itemised to pass a letting inspection - oven and fridge/freezer interiors, limescale removal on taps, tiles and shower screens, internal windows, skirting and a full checklist. It is the deep clean agents sign off against, so it protects your deposit. Whatever you decide, I am glad the quote was useful and the offer stays open. - Marcus

Domestic Appliance Repair

Marcus diagnosed the faulty element quickly but did not have the right part on the van, so it took a second visit once it was ordered which dragged the repair out over a week. The oven works fine now and he was polite throughout, just wish it had been sorted in one go. Fair enough on price.
Coastline Property Services replied
Thank you for the fair and honest review. You are right that the second visit dragged this out and I am sorry for the inconvenience. The element had to be ordered once I confirmed the exact model, but that is on me: I should have diagnosed the part number and carried common oven elements so it could have been fixed in one visit. I have since started stocking the usual Bosch and Neff elements on the van and confirming model numbers up front. Glad the oven is running well now, and thank you for your patience. - Marcus

Electric Underfloor Heating

Marcus fitted our kitchen underfloor heating and did a first-class job. Turned up on time both days, kept everything clean and tidy, and talked me through how the thermostat works. Only slight niggle was the cost crept up a little for extra insulation board, otherwise faultless. Would happily recommend.
Coastline Property Services replied
Thank you so much, this genuinely means a lot. It was a pleasure fitting your kitchen floor and I am glad the thermostat walk-through was useful. On the cost: the extra insulation board was not in the original scope, but the subfloor needed it so heat rises into the room rather than sinking away, which keeps the system efficient and your running costs down. I always flag any add-ons before fitting so there are no surprises. Enjoy the warm floors, and do call if you ever have a question. - Marcus, Coastline Property Services
