Ryan gave a clear, detailed quote - breaking out the old concrete, a proper sub-base, charcoal cobble blocks and an ACO channel draining away from the house. He clearly knew his stuff and explained everything well. It's a big spend so I'm comparing a couple of quotes before deciding, but he made a strong impression.

The hallway, stairs and landing look great and the prep work was thorough - the finish is lovely. Two small niggles: it ran about a day longer than the quote suggested, and there was some paint splashed on a skirting edge and the carpet trim that I had to point out before it was sorted. Happy overall and the work itself is a good job.

You are absolutely right on both counts, though: it ran about a day over what I quoted, and I should have spotted the paint on the skirting edge and carpet trim myself rather than you having to point it out. Ryan came out promptly and traced the leak to a failed seal on the sink trap. He replaced it, checked the base units over, dried everything out and reassured me there was no lasting damage. He was tidy throughout and the price was very fair. I'd happily have him back.
