Disappointing. We agreed a morning for Dean to come and measure up the bedroom alcoves for the fitted wardrobes, but he never turned up and didn't call or message to say he wasn't coming. I waited in and had to rearrange my day for nothing. No follow-up since. Can't speak to the actual joinery as it never got that far.
Fenland Roofing & Joinery replied
I'm genuinely sorry about the missed morning, Rowena — there was a mix-up over the appointment on our side and you were right to expect me. Not turning up without a call isn't how we work and I apologise for the wasted time. I'd very much like to put it right: I'm happy to come and measure up at a time that suits you, no obligation, so you can judge the actual joinery. Please do get back in touch if you'd give us another chance. Dean, Fenland Roofing & Joinery.

Came out to look at the dropped kerb and gave us a quote in the end, but it was a bit of a mixed experience. Pleasant enough in person, though he was over half an hour late and I had to chase for the written figure. The price came back higher than we expected for the crossover, so we're still weighing up options. Fine, just not wowed.
Fenland Roofing & Joinery replied
Thanks for the fair and honest feedback. You're right that I was late arriving and that the written quote took longer than it should have — that's on me and I've tightened up how I turn figures around. On the price: a compliant dropped kerb has to be built to the council's crossover spec, including any footway strengthening they require, which does push the cost above a straightforward drive. Happy to talk the figure through and look at options if it helps. Dean, Fenland Roofing & Joinery.

Absolutely first class from start to finish. Dean turned up exactly when he said, fitted the Velux beautifully and left the loft spotless. The flashing and plastered reveals look factory-perfect and the room is flooded with light. Fair price for the quality — could not recommend Fenland Roofing & Joinery more highly.

Thank you so much, Rowena — this really made our day. The rear-slope Velux came out beautifully and I'm delighted the reveals and flashing look the part and the room is full of light. It was a pleasure working on your loft, and thank you for the easy access and the tea. If the skylight ever needs anything down the line, just give us a shout. Dean, Fenland Roofing & Joinery.
