Ferndale came out and did an asbestos survey on the garage roof and gave me a written quote for the removal. Turned up on time and were professional about it. The quote felt a little steep so I'm weighing it up against another firm before committing, but no complaints about the survey itself.

Just so you can compare like with like: our price covers fully licensed removal, safe and legal disposal of the asbestos cement at a permitted site, and a clearance certificate for your records - not just taking the sheets down. Ferndale did clear the Japanese knotweed and the treatment seems to be working, but it needed a follow-up visit and they were slow to get the second treatment scheduled. Communication was fine once I chased. Job got done in the end, just not as quickly as I'd hoped.

The treatment is working, but I should have booked your follow-up visit in at the same time as the first rather than leaving you to chase me. That's on me. From now I schedule all knotweed follow-ups up front so the dates are locked in and nothing slips. Tom and the Ferndale team did a lovely job on our composite decking - solid sub-frame, neat edges and finished on schedule. Tidied up every day and easy to deal with throughout. Only reason value isn't full marks is it wasn't the cheapest quote, but worth it for the quality.
