Marek came round when he said he would and had a proper look at the bathroom, including checking the floor for any damp or soft spots before quoting - which we appreciated as the last person didn't bother. He was upfront and easy to talk to, and gave us some genuinely useful advice on tile choices for a small bathroom. His price wasn't out of line but was a bit more than we were expecting, so we're getting one more quote before we decide. Would still consider him for the work.

Thanks for the fair review, Marcus - and no pressure at all, it's absolutely right to get another quote before deciding on something this size. My price reflects taking the old tiles off properly and checking the substrate rather than tiling straight over a problem, but I'm happy to talk through the breakdown with you if it helps you compare like for like.
