Owen came out promptly to measure up and gave a clear, sensible quote for raised loft-leg boarding with an aluminium ladder and a light by the hatch. I was really impressed by how well he understood keeping the insulation working rather than just squashing it, and he explained the whole approach without any pressure. In the end I'm still comparing a couple of quotes before deciding, but he made a strong impression and was easy to deal with.

Owen fitted a really tidy 7kW charger on the driveway wall and sorted the consumer unit at the same time, and it's been working perfectly since. He knew exactly what he was doing and the finish is neat and unobtrusive. My only small niggle was that the scheduling slipped a little and it took longer than I'd expected to get a firm date in the diary. Once he was here, though, the work itself was spot on and fairly priced.

Damp Proofing

Owen carried out a really thorough damp survey, taking moisture readings all along the wall and down near the floor before saying a word about a fix. He correctly diagnosed rising damp with a bit of bridging as well, then installed a new damp-proof course and re-plastered the wall beautifully. He explained every step so I actually understood what was going on, left the room spotless, and the price was very fair for the amount of work. Genuinely couldn't be happier.

Thank you so much, Karen — that is really kind. I am delighted the survey pinned down the rising damp and the bit of bridging, and that the new damp-proof course and re-plaster have come up well. One thing worth knowing: a freshly treated wall takes a good while to dry out fully — often several months — so do not worry if the plaster looks a touch patchy or cool at first. Give it time and keep the room ventilated. If anything ever looks off, just give me a ring and I will pop back. Owen
