Iwan came out to quote for re-skimming a couple of ceilings and a wall after we'd removed old artex. He clearly knew his stuff — asked all the right questions about whether the artex had been tested and whether the substrate was sound — and gave a clear, fair quote. I was genuinely impressed. I've not hired him only because I'm comparing a couple of quotes, but he made a strong impression.

Water Underfloor Heating

The wet underfloor heating works beautifully and the kitchen-diner is lovely and warm — really pleased with how it performs. The quality of the actual installation is excellent. My one niggle is that the job overran: the screed took longer to dry than Iwan first indicated, and communication went a bit quiet for a few days in the middle, which was frustrating. Good work in the end, just manage your expectations on timing.

You're right to flag the timing, though, and I hold my hands up: the job overran and, worse, I went quiet for a few days in the middle — that wasn't good enough. Screed does genuinely need its drying time, but I should have set that expectation clearly up front rather than after the fact. I've since tightened how I keep customers posted throughout a job. Complete Kitchen Refurbishment

Iwan did a first-class job on our full kitchen rip-out and refit. Everything's integrated as we wanted — built-in oven, hob, dishwasher and fridge — and he even moved the sink under the window, which has transformed the room. The tiling is spot on and he kept the place tidy throughout, cleaning up every day. Came in on budget too. Couldn't be happier.
