Disappointing. Elliot took the repointing job and we agreed he would come and survey the front wall, but he never turned up on the day and did not call to rearrange. I chased twice by message and got one vague reply saying he would sort a new date, then nothing at all. Left me back at square one after waiting the best part of two weeks. Cannot comment on the actual work as none was done, but on turning up and communication it was well below what I would expect.

Elliot came out to look at enlarging the loft hatch and fitting a ladder. He knew his stuff and was straightforward about needing to trim a joist, but he turned up a fair bit later than arranged and I had to chase for the written quote afterwards. When it did come the price felt on the steep side for the work involved, and he was a bit vague on whether a fire-rated insulated hatch was included. Decided to get another quote in the end. Perfectly civil to deal with, just not quite convincing enough on price and detail.

Wharfedale sorted our Japanese knotweed in Headingley from start to finish. Elliot came out quickly, identified it properly and set up a clear multi-year herbicide programme, and crucially provided the insurance-backed guarantee in writing that our mortgage lender needed. Turned up exactly when he said, kept us informed at every visit and left the garden spotless. Fair price for the peace of mind. Would recommend to any neighbour dealing with knotweed.
